Guess it might be time to make a few French TV news and announcements:
1) As you may have seen elsewhere, we have a new cd out on Cuneiform, a 2-cd set called “The Spanish Caper”, so named as the studio disc was recorded in beautiful northern Spain in 2024. Disc Two is a collection of mostly obscure, somewhat classic rock covers. Sometimes, even RIO/Canterbury/fusion/whatever bands need to rock out once in a while. Selections include deep tracks from Iron Butterfly, Kinks, Mountain, Spirit, Procol Harum, Traffic, Steppenwolf, The Guess Who, James Gang, Rory Gallagher, J Geils Band, and Bloodrock.
2) A US-based live version of French TV seems to be falling in place, and it will be making its debut at Baltimore’s Orion Studios on May 30. The line-up consists of long-suffering keyboardist Pat Strawser (we’ll be debuting 3 of his compositions for this gig); plus guitarist Lane Gardner and drummer Jordan “Cool Cat” Holiman, both of whom did last year’s European tour. We’ll be joined on this gig by a killer trumpeter by the name of Brent Proseus–1st time we’ve had a trumpet player decorating our tunes!
3) A return to Europe in September! Confirmed dates include Sept. 18th: Encore, Sundbyberg (Stockholm, Sweden); Sept. 19th: Lidköping, Sweden; Sept. 20th: MIR, Grunerløkka, Oslo, Norway; Sept 23: Bergkeller Reichenbach, Germany. The Oslo gig will be opened by our longtime friends PANZERPAPPA!

4) We’re well into recording tracks for the next French TV cd, with about 25 minutes of music recorded and mixed. This one features the return of drummer Fenner Castner after sitting out The Spanish Caper. The momentum continues…
5) We’re playing ProgDay this year! Dates are Sept 5-6, don’t know which day we’ve got. For those not in the know, this is held at Storybook Farm deep in the wilderness of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. More details at https://progday.net/

On May 30th, we played an exceptional show at Baltimore’s ORION STUDIOS. This marked French TV’s return after 30+ years, so it was a special evening for both Pat Strawser and I (Pat’s old band Volare was also on the bill). Joe Tracy and his partners did a great job taking care of us and making everything sound JUST RIGHT. We even got great audio which we’ll be turning into a live album at some point, and we also got some terrific footage of the show, which you can watch if you hit the link below:
